Recipe Review – Vegan Grilled Tofu Skewers

Vegan Grilled Tofu Skewers

This Vegan Grilled Tofu Skewers recipe from Vibrant Plate is perfect for any season. I love how crispy the tofu gets when grilled. Using the convenience of pre-prepared bbq sauce, this recipe is simple enough to throw together any day of the week.

To make, you’ll need to press the tofu ahead of time. This helps to remove some of the liquid, allowing the tofu to get crispy. If you don’t have an actual tofu press (don’t worry, I don’t either), wrap your tofu in paper towel, and place it on a plate with something heavy on top. I like to use my cast iron pan.  These skewers can be grilled on your BBQ or indoor grill pan, and only take a couple of minutes on each side, until tofu is golden brown and veggies are cooked.

Enjoy skewers on their own or pair with rice or roasted potatoes for a balanced dinner.

What you’ll Need:

  • 1block extra firm tofu

  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 small zucchini

  • 1 red bell pepper

  • 1 yellow bell pepper

  • 1 red onion

  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes

  • salt and pepper, to taste

  • 2 tsp barbecue sauce

  • sesame seeds for serving

Makes 6 skewers

Ready in 30 minutes
